Fun with George in New Orleans
After a full day at the museum, where Sarah chatted with Gary Sinise and had her picture taken with him, or course . . . we were scooped up by our buddy George for a night of fun! First, we had dinner at Joey K's, where I had the greatest onion rings on earth. Then we headed to Sucre for dessert (even though we were stuffed from dinner). Then we headed to a Christmas concert with the New Orleans Volunteer Orchestra (NOVO). On our way to the Roosevelt to see the lights inside, George pulled over so I could take a picture of this sign. Who wouldn't want to live where the parade route sign was permanent?!?

Halloween Parade
Daniel dressed as Captain Hook to Declan's Peter Pan for Halloween. He was thrilled to discover both his principal and his teacher we both Captain Hook, too!

Independence Day
Our neighborhood parade was sort of cancelled, but then everyone walked anyway, so it was back on! After a very soggy reading of the Declaration of Independence on the library steps, we began our parade. The crowd grew as we walked along. Later, we headed to Dave's house for great food, fireworks, and fun!

Independence Day
We had a fun-filled Independence Day packed with fun! We started at our neighborhood parade, which includes popsicles and a fire hose spraying everyone, where we met up with Daniel's buddy Declan and his beautiful family. Then we went over to the Petersheims, where we had a cookout with the best ice cream ever, and then we capped off our evening watching the city's fireworks on the rooftop deck at our friend Sarah's house. It was an amazing day full of laughter, friendship, and joy!
