2013 Recap

The Christmas cards have been sent, and once again, we're offering a quick summary of a year of fun at Camp Bowden!  We had a fun-filled year with more ups than downs, so who can ask for more than that?

We traveled a fair amount this year.  Sarah, Emily and I went to New York for the Harry Potter Exhibit, which was amazing!!  We made several trips to Penn State for the Spring game, ice cream, and volleyball.  We spent Easter with Debbie and her family.  Mom and I took a trip to visit Aunt Chris for a girls' scrapbook get-away.  In June we celebrated Nana B.'s 100th birthday.   I went on my annual scrapbook weekend of fun with Mom, Gene, and Joanna.  We took a family vacation to Pisgah, where the weather was less than cooperative, and the girls tried to kill me on a hike way beyond my skill level!  We conquered the Ice Cream Trail, where I was named the runner-up!  We had a ball at HersheyPark with the Marusaks, and went to the Crayola Experience in Pennsylvannia.  I cheered the Gamecocks on to victory over Kentucky in October, and was able to be a mascot for a day.  Greg went to a Clemson game with the Whaleys and made business trips to LA, Stanford and New York.  We had visits from the Boone-Sullivan family, the Guerry family, Erik Whaley, and several visits from the Marusaks, Papa, and Nana.  We spent Thanksgiving in Goose Creek, trying to see as many people as possible (there is never enough time), including Nana B.

Sarah is the big 9th grader, having a ball in marching band in the percussion section.  She is doing well in high school, and has recently entered a short story in a contest at school.  She also sings in the church choir.

Emily is enjoying life as a seventh grader.  She is busy in the school band, playing the oboe, and school plays.  She has an active social life, but she does not think she does.  She recently became a Red Cross certified babysitter, and she is loved by small children everywhere she goes!

Daniel is still attending preschool with his beloved Ms. Rosanne.  He loves it there (and so do I), and I hope he does okay next year when he moves on to kindergarten at our school up the hill!  He still enjoys his twice a week speech playdate with Declan.

We hope you had a fabulous 2013, and we look forward to 2014!
