2014 Christmas Letter

2014 was a year of fun adventures, with lots of visits from family and friends, and lots of snow!  While we welcomed the family and friends, the snow . . . not so much.

Our year started with visits from Ken & Nancy, Papa, and Tom Buchheit (an unexpected treat).  Sarah finished her novel, my friend Dobo hit the Cougar Trail with me (totally NOT what it sounds like!), and Emily and Sarah were in the Honor Band.  Emily had a great year in TWIGS playing the oboe.  The snow was still coming strong in March!

In April, we headed south for Jeff's retirement.  We had an amazing time visiting family and friends, and celebrating Jeff!  His ceremony was almost as incredible as him.  While down south, we visited Nana B., and Daniel took a peek inside Williams-Brice Stadium.  Emily also had some much-needed time with her Carolina girls!

In the Spring, Daniel started T-Ball.  We managed to have a visit with Ken & Nancy that did not involve rain!  Sarah's History Day project made it to the State level.  Emily had a fun day at Six Flags with her band & Glee Club.  The end of preschool proved to be harder for Kristen than Daniel!  Kristen and Greg went to see Tyler Boone.  The show was amazing!

In the Summer, we were thrilled to have Grandpa and Grandma visit!  As Emily's 7th grade year wrapped up, she won several awards.  Papa and B'dette came for a Red Sox game.  While Emily's classmates went to Greece, we hosted a "My Parents Don't Love Me Enough To Send Me To Greece" Party.  Like every kid in America, we fell in love with Frozen.  The girls went to Band Camp, and we had our yearly trip with the Marusaks to Hersheypark.  Greg and Kristen took a trip to Chicago, while Nana loving looked after the kids.  Kristen took her annual Scrap trip with Nana, Joanna, and Gene.  Emily was in a summer production of Aladdin.  Summer wrapped up with visits from the Harrelsons and Amy Cribb's family.

The Fall brought day trips to Antietam and a local farm.  We also had another fun visit with Papa and tons of marching band fun!  Nana and Aunt Debbie came for Sarah's Confirmation.  Kristen took an amazing (and last minute) trip to Disney with Nana, Joanna, Gene, Judy and Clyde.  For Thanksgiving, we went to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  It was incredibly cold and crowded, but so much fun!  We were sad to lose Nana B. at a spry 101 years old.  She was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother, and we miss her every day.

The Christmas season brings all sorts of concerts, parades, and merriment.  Of course, the highlight of Daniel's year was his trip to ESPN's College GameDay.  We hope this year has been as full of happy memories for you as 2014 was for us!
