Halloween
It seems Saturday is the perfect day for Halloween! It was nice to be able to enjoy time with our friends and trick or treat without the rush of getting home from school, homework, and dinner! We had a grand time at Max's house, then the kids all went out trick or treating together. The kids had their picture taken for the neighborhood newsletter, too.

Halloween- October 31, 2013
Emily & Caroline dressed as Fred & George Weasley, keeping with Emily's string of Harry Potter-themed costumes. Daniel was a Gamecock, of course. He wanted to be both Clowney & Shaw, but had to settle for Marcus Lattimore. Sarah decided not to go trick-or-treating, because she had a big test the next day.
This would be Emily's pumpkin, which was a huge hit with the trick-or-treaters and the squirrels, making clean up super easy.

Emily's class made a pumpkin. So wrong, yet so hysterical. They came in 2nd place. |

Halloween- October 31, 2012
Sarah went as a Plague Doctor, Daniel was Marcus Lattimore (just two days after his 21st birthday), and Emily was Tonks from Harry Potter (she has been a different character from Harry Potter for the past four years).

I never quite managed to throw out the pumpkin. Thankfully, I had moved it off of the front porch! So, if you want a gross, moldy pumpkin next Halloween, carve it in late September and let it sit around outside.
My Cheerwine stash was getting a little low. so my super-awesome mother sent me not one, not two, not three, but FOUR 12 packs. Ahhhhhh . . . bubbly goodness. I'm drinking one right now.
Daniel loves his ESPNUs, and he felt Cocky needed a lesson in who was who. He spends a fair amount of time watching the slide show of about 170 different mascots!

Our pumpkin |
Sarah quickly decided her costume was not conducive to the stairs and paths in our neighborhood! |
I have never seen a spider like this. It is a Marbled Orbweaver. I knew Joanna would want to see it, as she loves spiders so very much. |
Halloween Gathering- October 30, 2011
The kids on our tiny street all go trick-or-treating together each Halloween, and then their is a gathering after the candy collecting. Since Halloween was on a Monday, the neighbors opted to have the gathering the day before Halloween. Several of the kids wore costumes, and the adults gathered around the fire pit as the kids played capture the flag.
Emily as Bellatrix Lestrange |
Sarah as the Queen of Spades |
Daniel as . . . Daniel. He opted not to wear his firefighter costume, but he did wear his boots. |
We also had an angry bird, and a scary Caroline . . . I can't recall what she was. |
