Christmas Eve- December 24, 2010
Merry Christmas! |
Columbia
We had a fun-filled Christmas Eve with family from all over the Eastern coast! Our day started bright and early as we loaded up in our new car for our first road trip. We headed to Columbia to see Granny Gayle, Grandpa Charles, and Nana B. While we were there, we exchanged Christmas presents and had pizza.

Children's Mass
We left Columbia shortly after lunch so we could be home in time for the girls to sing at the Children's Mass. They also played the piano during Communion. Emily played "Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabella." Sarah played "O, Holy Night."
Aunt Kathe's House
After Mass, we headed to Aunt Kathe's house to eat lasagna and exchange presents. Adam and Chuck were down from Delaware, and we had a great time getting to know Chuck. Adam and Andrea raced to find the pickle, and even after a do-over, Adam was the winner!

Home Again
After a fun day out and about, we came home to put Baby Jesus in the Manger, put out cookies for Santa (and candy corn out for his reindeer), hang stockings, and watch It's a Wonderful Life.
Papa and the Train! December 22, 2010
Papa came over for a visit, and the train under the Christmas tree was a big hit with kids of all ages!
Gifts- December 16, 2010
On the eve of the last day before Christmas break, after piano and dance, we decided it was really time to buckle down and make those teacher gifts. The girls had decided to make Perler Bead ornaments for each teacher (4 for Emily and 6 for Sarah). Emily had given one teacher a CD of Lamby's songs, so she had 2 fewer ornaments to make than Sarah. It was a long night, but the girls were troopers, and the ornaments came out great.
Santa- December 5, 2010
We had our annual Christmas with the Crew gathering at Kathe's house. There, I discovered the joy of pot stickers. Yum. Santa surprised us all with a visit! We had a great time visiting with family and friends, eating way too much yummy food. The only thing that was missing was Uncle Jeff!
Emily was first to sit on Santa's lap. |

Star- December 5, 2010
We thought it was Emily's turn to put on the star, but alas, when ordering pictures to scrapbook (I am even further behind than I am on the blog, if you can believe that!), I discovered Emily put the star on the tree in 2009. Oooops.
