Ken & Nancy- March 28, 2011

Greg's Aunt Nancy & Uncle Ken took one of their amazing journeys around the country this past winter. You can read Aunt Nancy's journal by clicking on the dodgecitykitty link to the right. On their latest trip, they were in our area so we spent a great afternoon together. This was their first opportunity to meet our Daniel (they have a Daniel, too). It was great to visit with them!

Regional Spelling Bee- March 14, 2011

Sarah's spelling success ended at the regional level.  We are very proud of how well she did, and she is excited to have another opportunity next year!  We couldn't take pictures during the competition, but Nana managed to get some before and after, thankfully.

Scrapbooking- March 11, 2011

 For 6 years, we have gathered every month (well, almost every month) for dinner and scrapbooking.  While some nights are more productive than others, we always have a great time looking at pictures, comparing products, planning scrapbook trips, and sharing tips and tools. 

We had a yummy cake to celebrate our anniversary.  Sharon was kind enough to serve us in between layouts!

 Daniel was not feeling the scrapbook love, so Nana let him color on her lap.  He'll color on anything, so we figured we'd better keep a close eye on him with all of our good paper around!  The girls always play on the Wii when we scrapbook, enjoying an opportunity to stay up later than usual!

Gene worked on some Christmas pages with Lincoln sitting on Santa's lap from their family trip to Disney World last Christmas.

Joanna worked on a countdown calendar for Lincoln for their next trip to Disney.  She had a zillion little numbers and Mickey-shaped cut-outs!

Daniel's new favorite toys are the hammer and screwdriver from a tool set he received many months before from Lincoln, Michael & Joanna.  He loves to hammer while watching Bubble Guppies or Handy Manny!  We spend a fair chunk of time searching for these two tools all over the house, too!

Uncle Jeff Comes Home! March 3, 2011

We woke up extra early to head to the Air Force Base by 6:00 AM for Jeff's scheduled 7:00 AM arrival.  We were fairly certain the times would be accurate since they were filming some segments for Lifetime's series Coming Home.  We were so happy to finally hug Uncle Jeff after his deployment!  After our welcome celebration, the girls had to go to school, and Daniel fell asleep on the chair!

Poor Emmy did not have a happy Valentine's Day.  She came home from school (about 30 minutes after the school day started) with a fever.  She missed two days of school, but her teachers saved her valentines in a big bag for her.

Cupcakes! February 12, 2011

We had a fun-filled weekend visit with Aunt Debbie, Uncle Scott, TJ and Julia. On Saturday, the kids decorated cupcakes. I had no idea this would be so much fun for them. They had a ball, and everyone enjoyed the tasty treats. TJ even made a cupcake for Daniel, who was more than happy to eat it!

District Spelling Bee- February 10, 2011

The District Spelling Bee at Berkeley High School took the top 12 finalists to the Regional Spelling Bee.  From there, the winner goes on to the National Spelling Bee in Washington, DC.  Sarah came in 10th place, so she was set to go to the Regional Bee, SpellBound!

For Uncle Bill's upcoming birthday, we needed a picture of Daniel eating breakfast.  Whenever we visit, Daniel and Uncle Bill eat breakfast together in his room because they are Breakfast Buddies.  We wanted to give Uncle Bill plates showing Daniel eating his breakfast so they could still be Breakfast Buddies even when they aren't together!

Greek Day- January 28, 2011

Sarah's class celebrated Greek Day on Friday, January 28th.  She wore a toga to school, and we made Finikia for the feast.  The cookies were delicious, a combination of orange and cinnamon flvors, dipped in honey & sugar!
