Big Boy!

This morning, Daniel was calling for someone to come check out his new trick. Usually when he wakes up, he talks to himself and plays with the toys and books in his crib. This gives me time to get his bottles all set for the day. Today, he seemed very eager to have someone come see him, so Emily went in to chat with him while I thawed his morning bottle. She called out, "Mommy, he's standing!" He was so proud of himself! Thankfully, Greg had put Daniel's crib to the lowest setting about two weeks ago. He's learning new things every day!
He seems to have already mastered the art of standing to sitting, a skill it seems both girls struggled with. He's not very fearful, so he's not afraid to plop himself down. I'm curious to see if he attempts to climb out of his crib. He loves his crib, but he always wants to see what else is around. I see some adventures in our near future!

What a Difference a Day Makes!

After a day of practice, he can pull himself up in a jiffy!

Big Stander- September 16, 2009

Sitting in my Crib! September 16, 2009

When I went to get the little man after his afternoon nap, he was sitting there looking at books.

Daddy & Daughter Weekend

Last weekend Greg took Sarah & Emily to North Carolina for the Duke Invitational Volleyball tournament. Emily has expressed an interest in the sport, and Greg was happy to support her dream, especially since Penn State was playing! The girls went to two matches. First they watched Penn State win over the College of Charleston Cougars.

Then, after celebrating Scott's birthday, Aunt Debbie, Uncle Scott, Travis, Trenton & Julia joined them for the Penn State-Duke match. After the game (Penn State won, of course!), Emily went on a mission to get the autographs of all of the PSU players. The girls had a great time staying with Aunt Debbie, Uncle Scott, and the Marusak kids.

Oh Brother!

Uncle Bill was happy to point out the joy of beer to Daniel!

Playing Around

Aunt Chris & Uncle Bill

Daniel was thrilled to finally meet Uncle Bill! He had met Aunt Chris when she was here in August for Nanny's funeral, but we neglected to take any pictures. Everyone had a pleasant flight, and Bill said it wasn't nearly as bad as he thought it would be! Our crew, along with Bill & Chris, Nana, Joanna, Lincoln & Michael all descended on Richard & Gene's pool for some farewell to summer swimming. Sadly, it was chilly, so only Sarah, Emily, Lincoln, and his brave parents made it into the water! Next we headed to Mom's for a cook-out. Father Frank, Jeff, Kathe, Andrea, Kaitlynn, John, Judy and Clyde (with Cooper) joined the group, too. It was a fun day filled with food, family and friends!

Buddies- August 26, 2009

Daniel had to say good-bye to his best buddy Father Liam. Daniel always loved it when Father Liam would scoop him up when we were at the church office. Father Liam was the first person Daniel held his little arms up to in an effort to be picked up. We will miss him, but we know he has important work to do for the Adorno Fathers.
