The Cake- October 10, 2010

Greg had a great idea for a cake to celebrate my 10/10/10 birthday.  It was a cube 10x10x10 inches, filled with Fluffy Green Goodness between the layers (also known as Watergate Salad).  Sadly, the execution was a bit more difficult than predicted.  It may not have looked pretty, but boy did it taste good!

The Tide Goes Down! October 9, 2010

To celebrate my birthday, we went to the Alabama-Carolina game.  Dad made the best shrimp & grits in the world!  I continued my undefeated record, and I was thrilled to see the Gamecocks beat #1 Alabama in a game that will forever top all games in my mind!  We did not make it to College GameDay, but in the end I was glad, as it was a nightmare to get from GameDay's site to the stadium.  It was an awesome day!

Braces- September 28, 2010

Emily was very excited to finally get her braces.  Dr. Vincent had never seen such an eager patient!

School Dance- September 24, 2010

Emily, our 4th grader, went to her first school dance two weeks after Sarah.  She also had a great time dancing the night away!

Go Jags! September 18, 2010

We went to cheer on Lincoln and Team Jaguar!  Never one to do things halfway, we came armed with signs, green hair, and lime green all around.  We were all impressed with Lincoln's mad skills on the soccer field!

POW-MIA Remembrance Day- September 17, 2010

Jeff invited Greg, my dad and John to the POW-MIA Remembrance Day at the Air Base.  He had organized the event, and everyone said he did a fabulous job (of course!).  It was a great day, and Greg enjoyed touring the base and plane.

School Dance- September 10, 2010

Sarah, our big 6th grader, went to her first school dance.  She had a great time!  Since we were scrapbooking that night, we snapped a quick photo before she headed out the door.

Go Tigers! September 4, 2010

The college football weekend of fun continued at the Clemson game.  Emily is a huge Clemson fan, which stems from her desire to be just like Lauren or her desire to aggravate Papa.  It could be some of each.  So, Greg thought it would be fun to take the girls to a game.  Daniel spent the day with Nana, and we met up with Greg's buddy Anthony and headed over to tailgate with the Whaley family.  I don't recall who they played, but I know Clemson won.  I'd like to point out that at half time, I was the only person in our party of 10 that was still watching the game.  Everyone else went back to tailgate some more!  It was a great day, and I really enjoyed meeting the Whaley family, who put out an amazing spread!  Emily and Sarah also had a blast sliding down hills with their new buddy Mr. Whaley.  Good times!

Daniel, a loyal Gamecock, was not sad to have quality time with Nana all to himself!

Emily, Anthony, Sarah & Greg.  Both the parking spot and the Clemson bag were from Greg's very kind friend Bobby!

Erik took all of the kids sliding down a hill, and it was quite a hoot!

The band put on an impressive show both before the game and at halftime.

Go Cocks! September 2, 2010

After a long summer, it was finally college football season!  Dad and I kicked off the season with a USC win over the Southern Miss Golden Eagles.

Penn State Volleyball- August 27-28, 2010

With our big family vacation behind us, then a trip to Edisto, and a trip to Charlotte, we couldn't miss the opportunity to have some family fun with the Marusaks and see a little Nittany Lion volleyball!  We arrived Friday just in time to do a shuffle, dropping Daniel and me off to hang out with Debbie, while Greg, the girls, Scott, Trenton & Julia went to see Penn State play UNC, the first of four games.  The team had been undefeated since, I don't know, forever, and they kept that streak alive during the four game series.

On Saturday, we saw the last two games, and Debbie and Kate managed to get several members to put on some Penn State face paint to surprise Greg!  After the game, Sarah, Emily, Julia met the team members, and Emily had the team sign her volleyball.  After that, we headed to Fat Daddy's!

Sarah's Party- August 21, 2010

Sarah wanted to wait until after school started to have her 11th birthday party so she could invite some friends from school.  Auntie Gene & Bubba kindly opened their home and pool to host the gathering!

My sweet Southern boy loves to play with Cheerwine, but he's never actually consumed it.

August 15, 2010

Moments after returning from a weekend of scraping fun (and late nights!), we were off to Sullivans Island for a Penn State Alumni gathering.
After his first taste of the beach, Daniel was hooked!

Scrapbooking! August 12-15, 2010

Every year, Joanna and I head to Charlotte with our moms Gene & Carol for a weekend of crazy scrapbook fun!
Carol and Gene are ready to go!

Joanna and Gene had to switch rooms . . . even after replacing the battery in the card reader for their door.

Mom is a Scrapbooking Queen!
